Veg Sizzler

 


||Ingredients||

 

For sauce:

 

Chopped garlic – 2 tbsp

 

Chopped Ginger – 2 tbsp

 

Chopped green chillies - 2

 

Tomato ketchup – 2 tbsp

 

Soy Sauce – 1 tbsp

 

Corn flour – 1 tbsp

 

Oil – 1 tbsp

 

Water – 1 + ½ cup

 

Salt - To taste

 

Red Chilli Powder – ¼ tsp

 

Sugar – ¼ tsp

 

For stir fry vegetables:

 

Oil – 1 tbsp

 

Broccoli – 1 cup

 

Chopped Coloured Bell Pepper – 1 cup

 

Carrots – 1 cup

 

 French Beans (cut into small pieces) – ¼ cup

 

For Rice:

 

Boiled rice – 1 + ½ cup

 

Oil – 1 tbsp

 

Chopped garlic – 1 tbsp

 

Chopped coloured capsicum – ½ cup

 

Finely chopped carrot – ¼ cup

 

Salt - to taste

 

Pepper - to taste

For the fries:

Raw potatoes (cut in proper shape) - 2

 

Oil - for frying

||Method||

 

For sauce :

 

Heat a pan and add oil to it.

 

Add ginger, garlic and sauté for a minute.

 

Now add green chillies, soya sauce, ketchup, red chilli powder, sugar and 1/2 cup of water.

 

Meanwhile in a bowl mix 1 cup of water and corn flour.

 

Add the corn flour mixture to the soya sauce mixture.

 

Simmer it and let it cook until the sauce is a little thick. At this stage add salt.

 

Cook it for 1-2 minutes more and then switch off the flame.

 

For stir fry :

 

Heat a pan and add oil to it.

 

Add to this, all the vegetables mentioned in the ingredients for the stir fry.

 

Let it cook for 3-4 minutes on a low to medium flame.

 

Add salt, 1/4 tsp red chilli powder and 1/4 tsp garam masala.

 

Mix all this and cook. Don't cook too much, the texture should remain crunchy.

 

For Rice :

 

Heat a pan and add oil to it.

 

Add the vegetables and cook for about 2-3 minutes.

 

Now add boiled rice, salt and pepper to it. Mix well.

 

French Fries :

 

Peel and cut the potatoes in French fries' shape.

 

Wash them 3-4 times

 

Pat dry these fries on a kitchen towel.

 

Fry them in hot oil.

||Assembling||

 

Heat the sizzler plate for 4 to 5 minutes. It needs to be extremely hot.

 

Now reduce the flame and grease the sizzler plate with oil.

 

First place the rice and stir fry on the sizzler plate.

 

Then pour some sauce on it.

 

Add French fries along with tikki.

 

Add some more sauce, garnish with some coriander and the Sizzler is ready.

 

||Notes||

 

Vegetables can be different according to choice.

 

Quantity of spices can also be varied.

 

While adding the corn flour in soya sauce mixture, keep stirring continuously to avoid lumps.
